Description
Norman Nelson joined the Air Force and served in Korea, Italy, Japan, Taiwan and in the United States. His wife and four children spent more than six years with him during assignments in Europe. Since his release from the military, he has been highly involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization statewide and locally. His local group does frequent instruction, special ceremonies at parades, Eagle Scout presentation, the 2002 Olympics, and military funerals for veterans. His specialty is teaching the history, courtesies and proper handling of the American flag.
