Description
Misao Ashdown grew up in Japan in Hiroshima Prefecture. Her father lost two brothers, who were killed while serving in the Japanese military during World War II. One of his sisters was killed and another seriously injured when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima City. Despite these losses, he feels the bombing was justified to saves lives. This discussion covers Misao's education, her marriage to an American husband, her work as a translator for Mazda car manufacturer, and her life as a wife and mother living in Brigham City.
