Description
After graduating from high school, Walter Holmes worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps building parks. He was drafted into the Army Air Corps and served as an airplane mechanic on the bombers to be used in WWII. He went on test flights with the pilots. He contracted valley fever from spending long periods of time in the desert and was hospitalized. Discussion includes his family life and career changes after his military service.
