Description
Jode Sutton joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was assigned to be a crew leader, with his crew assisting pilots landing on the aircraft carrier, the Enterprise. His assignments were in the Pacific Islands. Discussion includes procedures and problems involved in take-off and landing on the carrier, air battles, shooting guns to protect the ship from bombers and kamikaze pilots, and visiting Tokyo after the atomic bomb was dropped and Japan surrendered.
