Description
Old stone farmhouse at left of center, bordered by tall leafless trees. Suggests late fall or early spring by the weather.  People are on the porch and surrounding the gate, Eastern mountain range in the back.  Written on the back of print "Located on hwy, 5.5 miles No. of the courthouse in Brigham City.  This old rock home is in good repairs today.  The current residents, Leonard Briggs family gave the following information: (they have lived there 17 yrs.).  "Built abt 1850 by Barnard.  Home is listed on State Historical Register.  Family who occupied the home the longest period was Lillywhite family (John P. Lillywhite, later No. Box Elder Stake President, patriarch, and Seminary teacher lived here.)  the old gate post, and parts of the two gates in the foreground still stand, weathering on the west side of the road."  There are 19 or more souls posing for the photograph, probably taken about the turn of the century.  A Dr. Harding of Utah State Historical Society visited this home about 1970 and gave the Briggs a copy of the same photo."  R.
