Description
This interview covers Earl Gray's experiences as a Marine serving in the Pacific Islands during World War II. He was in active service from August 1942 to December 1945. He was assigned to the First Armored Amphibian Battalion. As such, he was involved in invasions in the Marshall Island, the Marianas Island, Guam, and Okinawa. He tells of fighting and friends being killed around him and the lifestyle in such areas as Guadalcanl. Discussion includes controversy about use of the atomic bomb.
