Description
Discussion of Jensen's memories of Box Elder Academy of Music and Dance. His father Elijah Jensen played cornet in band for dances at Academy. Robert had a job stoking the boiler to warm building before opening time. He remembered the building as a skating rink and the Bluebird dance hall. The ground floor was once used for a bowling alley, and upper floor for dances; it was called Dance Bowl in about 1947. Peach Queen pageants were staged in Academy in the 1930s.
