Description
Interview focused on Howard Kelly's grandfather Charles Kelly, superintendent of the Brigham City Mercantile and Manufacturing Association's Boot and Shoe Factory which was located between 4th and 5th East on Forest Street. Howard Kelly was born after the grandfather's death and obtained information from his father Fred C. Kelly. Charles Kelly and wife Maren Kirsten Thomasen made shoes at the factory during the winter, and delivered ordered shoes in the spring to small towns in western Box Elder County. Interview includes personal and family history, Kelly boyhood memories of going to the train to pick up newspapers to deliver around town. the electric trolley, the Peaches baseball team, and the Relief Society granary
