Description
Jackson was interviewed as part of a study of the early Brigham City homes, and discussed the floor plan of the house. Her father Ole Poulsen had started building the house for her mother, his fifth polygamous wife, whom he married when he was 60 and she was 16. He died just after the foundation was finished, and Tom Youngquist, a hired builder completed the construction in 1900. Interview includes Jackson's memories of her father's gristmill and blacksmith shop, of growing up with many of his grandchildren from earlier marriages, and of her own experiences as an elevator operator in the First National Bank building, originally, built for the Brigham City Cooperative, and her 27 years as a telephone switchboard operator.
