Description
Alvin D. Stokes served in the 422nd Infantry Replacement Battalion during WWII. He was in combat in the Ardennes Forest where 80,000 U.S. troops were killed. After Germany surrendered, he was assigned to guard hundreds of German troops until they could be processed and returned to their homes. Discussion includes descriptions of army life during wartime.
