Description
Butter churn with hand crank. The owner's grandparents may have been the original owners. He remembers it being in the house (in Perry) in 1942.
Black stenciled text on the side reads:

These churns came into production sometime in the mid 1800s, and were popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Barrel shape churn with removable wooden lid and four small wooden feet. Metal crank on outside turns four-bladed wooden paddle on the inside. Crank is held in place by a thumb screw and a small metal arm.
Came from house at 1650 South Highway 89 (Perry).
