Description
"Miracle of the Gulls" by Jessie Larsen is an oil on masonite painting. It is signed lower mid-right. In a cubist style with impasto painting technique, Larsen depicts two large seagulls with wheat stalks and crickets. Behind the seagulls are a man and woman in joyful prayer in the fields and a mountainous background with many small seagulls in the sky. Colors are white and many tints, greens, purples, blues, browns, yellows and black. The 4 inch wide gray frame is original. Estimated date of the painting is in the 1950s.
