Description
"Morning Glow" by Lura Redd is an oil painting on masonite board done in about 1930 according to Hal Madsen, a student. The painting is signed in the lower right, the date is not indicated on the painting. The name of the artist was mispelled on the Box Elder High School inventory. Lura Redd, not Laura Reed was an art teacher at Box Elder for decades. She taught Boyd K. Packer and David Howell Rosenbaum. The scene is an autumn one along a road with a group of golden Poplar trees and mountains in the background. The scene looks like it could be just north of Brigham City. The 2 .5 inch wide wooden frame is varnished.
