Description
Five men in stripped prison suits stand in front of the prison. From left: James Bywater minus his beard during his first (1888) term. His sentance coincided with that with that of President Gerorge Q. Cannon (center), Utah's most wanted polygamist at the time, who posed for countless photos of this kind with scores of fellow "cohabs" imprisoned for "conscience sake." From left to right: Alexander Baird, Ole Andersen Jensen (or Bishop Thomas Harper), President George Q. Cannon, James Bywater, and John H. Bott. Baird and Bott were also from Brigham City.  Two men in suits stand behind them, probably the wardens of the prison.  One man sits in a wooden chair.  The man on the right is John Henry Bott.  The man in the chair is George Q. Cannon and the bearded man directly to George's left is Ole Anderson Jensen.

It was likely taken during John H. Bott's 6 month prison sentence from June to December 1888 at the Utah State Penitentiary in Sugar House, Utah.

It's housed in a wood frame with gilded edges.
