Description
Thelma Hess was a telephone operator in Englewood, Colorado. After her marriage, she moved with her husband Jack Hess, to Plymouth, Utah to take over the family farm. During WWII she worked as a telephone operator at Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City placing calls from the wounded GIs to their mothers. After Bushnell closed, she was a telephone operator at Thiokol for 17 years. Discussion covers life on the farm which her husband's family homesteaded 107 years ago.
