Description
Interviewees are a brother and a nephew, respectively, of Howell Rosenbaum, Brigham City native and prominent Utah artist in the 1930s and 40s. Born in 1908, Howell Rosenbaum always liked to draw. He took art classes at Box Elder High School. In the service during WWII, he painted scenes in Guadal Canal and sent them home. Because of illness, he was sent to Bushnell Hospital in Brigham City. He worked for the Works Progress Administration. He opened a studio in Ogden, lived a reclusive life. He died in 1982 leaving approximately 400 pieces of art.
