Description
Grey pot sherd that appears to have been drille through to create a pendant of sorts.  ANother possibility regarding the existence of the hole is that it could have been a repair hole to put some sort of twine into the pieces to hold a crack together. Drill hole is conical on only one side indicating that a very skinny drill bit was used to make this hole and only one pass was needed to create the hole rather than having to drill from one side then the other to mak a good hole like in  some of the shale pieces in the same collection. Not particularly thick. Could be a piece broken off from the side of the pot rather tha the bottom. Most likely of shoshone origin.
