Black Obsidian Projectile Point

Anthropological

Identifier:
2011.26.9
Description
Black obsidian piece. Appears to have a large notch right in the center of the base going up into the arrowhead on one side. This would make it easier to mount on a shaft of sorts. Very thick throughout the body of the projectile point. the edges have no bevel to them and go straight from the center to the edge. Broken off at about 3.5 cm from the base. Cross section reveals the point to be shaped like an eye. From research, the point appears to have been rather long before breakage occurred. Possibly a Clovis point.
