Notation: 2nd Ward School. 200 West 200 South.
Was known as the Whittier School. Whittier School, was the most permanent of the ward schools. A small rock school preceded this attractive two-story brick structure erected by the Second Ward in the 1880s. Later housing a public school, Whittier was used as an educational facility until 1940. It was designated as a Boy Scout building until it was razed to make room for a parking lot at the Second Ward.
