Hannah Hillam began working in 1933 as secretary for Noman Lee, abstractor and insurance agent, at 13 West Forest Street. Remembered rental apartments on upper floor, as well as rooms for hotel guests. Artist and Box Elder High School teacher Lura Redd rented apartment there. She listed ground floor businesses, including beauty shop, barbershop, CPA and dental offices, violin and leather classes, and drug store. Box Elder News-Journal was in basement. Her mother's brother James Bywater owned the hotel building which looked the same from the outside at the time of interview in 1990 as it did in 1933 except for removal of canopy over Forest Street entrance to hotel lobby.
