Description
Interior of Frank Losee Blacksmith shop. Four men and a vise, anvil, barrels, forge, and horseshoes below the anvil. Back identifies: Frank Losee at anvil; John Youngquist at the vise; seated Albert Hanson (vest) and Orville Lund. Windows let in some light. The beams are open. There is a brick chimney. A broom lies on the floor.

The paper on back reads: "Frank Losee's Blacksmith shop was located on the east side of Main Street, about 3/4 of a block North of the Couty Court House. Although the shop did all kinds of blacksmithing, it was especially noted in this part of the state for shoeing race horses and riding and buggy horses. Frank Losee and his partner John Youngquist carried a large stock of light weight horseshoes and catered to the riding and buggy trade. You could always tell a horse that had been shoed at Losee's because the hooves were painted shiny black. In the picture, Frank Losee is standing at the anvil with big John Youngquist at the vise. Seated behind John is Albert Hanson (with vest) and Orville Lund, well known residents of Brigham City. (donated by Janice Staples)."
