Utah Sales Tax Token
1942 – 1951
On both sides of the light gray-colored, medium-sized, plastic token are the words:
STATE OF UTAH. SALES TAX TOKEN.
The number 2 is in the center of the coin on both sides and is surrounded by two circles.
These tokens were used to help pay sales tax. They originally were made from aluminum. During WWII there was a shortage of material and they began to make them out of plastic.
