Description
Small brown and tan pottery crock. The crock includes a short handle, and a lid. There is a smooth glaze, with the top portion (and lid) a dark brown, and the bottom half a beige/tan shade. The very bottom of the crock is not painted or glazed, and shows the original reddish color of the clay. There is a small round hole near the base of the handle, with some white, dried runoff emanating from it.
Object may have been imported, not locally made. It represents a fairly common type of American Stoneware. This particular object may have been designed as a soup crock.
