Description
Quinn Eskelsen worked at Thiokol first on testing the Minuteman missile and later the Space Shuttle booster motors. Discussion includes the Challenger disaster and failure of O-rings in cold temperatures and subsequent corrections and successful launches. After retirement he was a volunteer working to repair damage to the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge after it was severely damaged in a flood of the Great Salt Lake. Because of his surveying background, he assessed the dikes and was able to make them level by filling in loads of dirt where needed.
